The 5th edition of Music & Wine in Mauritius, hosted by Constance Prince Maurice and Constance Belle Mare Plage, was enriched by the partnership with Giampaolo Motta, the owner of La Massa, a captivating estate nestled in the heart of Chianti Classico, spanning 27 hectares of south-facing vineyards in the magnificent Conca d’Oro di Panzano.
Here’s Giampaolo Motta's perspective on the event and Constance Hotels & Resorts.
Please describe Music & Wine by Constance Hotels & Resorts:
"Arriving at Constance Prince Maurice is nothing short of magical. The place exudes uniqueness, and the people radiate warmth—it feels like returning home. Music & Wine merges the art of wine and music in a convivial and joyous union."
How do you feel about your participation in this Edition:
"Being a significant participant fills me with joy. Constance Cellar is renowned for its seriousness and exceptional wine list, making it a point of pride to have my wines in the Indian Ocean. Sharing my passion and knowledge with a sommelier team eager to learn is deeply fulfilling. Constance Hotels & Resorts, known for its outstanding sommelier service, is a solid group with a true wine vision guided by Jerome Faure's passion."
Which wine from your vineyard are being served in the edition ?
"All three cuvées from my vineyard were showcased during this edition, including La Massa 2020 & 2010, illustrating the evolution of my wines and my winemaking journey. Wine is the signature of a person, and I aimed to exhibit that. The team's pairing, especially Carla with fish, brought out the smoothness and revealed the wine’s delicacy. The precise wine temperatures, despite the warm setting, showcased the excellence of the Sommelier team."
Who should indulge in La Massa:
"Those seeking pleasure and enjoying wines of delight, especially those different from the typical Chianti Classico appellation."
Your thoughts on Mauritian Sommeliers at Constance Hotels & Resorts:
“Bellissima! Thanks to Jerome Faure’s work and passion, he has cultivated genuine enthusiasm and a true passion for wine and sommelier craftsmanship. I’ve travelled extensively and encountered numerous sommeliers, yet I can confidently say that Mauritian sommeliers are inching closer to the pinnacle of sommelier excellence”.
